Swiss luxury watchmaker Vacheron Constantin, celebrating almost 270 years in business, is pleased to introduce 'Into The Light,' a narrative set during Ramadan 2023. An illuminating adventure that brings together the rich traditions of the Middle East with the Maison's dedication to precision crafting.
Each day's progression is marked by the dawn and sunset, which are both old timekeepers. During the Sacred Month of Ramadan, it takes on added significance. Vacheron Constantin's 'Into The Light' is a tribute to the heritage of horology.
As a tribute to the Sacred Month of Ramadan, 'Into The Light' combines contemporary elements with those drawn from centuries-old customs. The story takes the audience on a breathtaking and one-of-a-kind adventure inside a fanoos, a type of traditional lamp. When the lantern's lid is raised, a moonlit Arabian metropolis emerges from the desert. Its architecture takes its cues from that of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain, all of which are home to famous examples of Islamic design. After winding through the city, visitors finally reach a door that mimics a watch calibre, revealing the exquisite workmanship and finishing of the mechanism. The cannon is gleaming, and the gorgeous light it emits begins to light up the metropolis and bring the night sky to life. The scene then shifts to the outside of the city, with the viewer peering through the 'fanoos' entrance to see the lantern that illuminates the room and casts the beautiful Islamic mashrabiya pattern on the walls.
As the pattern is completed and the light shines through, the viewer is struck by the striking similarity between the intricate patterns of Islamic building and the precision and artistry of a Vacheron Constantin timepiece. There is a connection between these three things, and it is their flawless symmetry. The perfect geometrical patterns appear to be the bedrock of the regional and Maison's heritage, serving both practical and aesthetic purposes in a very harmonious manner.
Égérie Creative Edition
The Égérie Creative Edition watch is based on the long history of decorative craftsmanship at the Manufacture, which dates back to the early 1800s. Modern shapes can be seen in it. The delicate "embroidered" face is swept by three graceful hands created specifically for the watch, and the asymmetry of the watch, including the off-center moon-phase display and the case's integrated crown set with a rose-cut diamond between 1 and 2 o'clock, only adds to the overall effect.
Égérie moon phase
While Haute Couture bestows Égérie with elegance, magnificently refined forms, attention to detail, and soft textures, Haute Horlogerie imparts the technical sophistication that is dear to Vacheron Constantin and the heritage of the asymmetrical displays that have characterised its history. Egérie moon phase jewellery is primarily admired for its exquisite visual allure, thanks to its elegant design and snug fit on the wrist. There are three different editions, Égérie moon phase jewellery, now available in a diamond-encrusted form. The dial and frame of this model are encrusted with diamonds. The new Égérie moon phase has a swooping rose gold bracelet and a diamond-paved phase that resembles the moon.
Patrimony perpetual calendar ultra-thin
Legendary 1120 QP calibre, an ultra-thin selfwinding movement, provides the heartbeat for the Patrimony perpetual calendar ultra-thin watch. This version offers aficionados unparalleled modern sophistication with its clean, sophisticated lines. Mastery of miniaturisation is required because the perpetual calendar requires the movement to be mechanically adjusted for calendar irregularities. Vacheron Constantin's Calibre 1120 QP is only 4.05 mm thick, demonstrating the extreme minimalism used to make this perpetual calendar.
Traditionnelle complete calendar
Vacheron Constantin's unique stamp of innovation is still visible in the calendar indications of the classically inspired Traditionnelle complete calendar, which features a stepped round case and lugs, a fluted caseback, and a railway minute-track swept over by Dauphine-style hours and minutes hands. The date is displayed by a separate pointer, while the days of the week and months are displayed in windows around the outer edge of the bezel. The layout draws special attention to the accurate moon phase displayed at 6 o'clock. The Traditionnelle complete calendar is powered by Calibre 2460 QCL/1 and features a 22K gold openworked oscillating weight with a design inspired by the Maison's Maltese cross emblem; the movement, which is visible from the back, bears all the finishing touches one would expect from a Haute Horlogerie calibre.
