TIME STAMPED WITH EMOTION

Rolex unveiled three new Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36 models, all of which are vibrant and happy. These timepieces are made of 18 karat yellow, white, or Everose gold and feature a custom-designed face. Instead of displaying the date, an encouraging English word such as "Happy," "Eternity," "Gratitude," "Peace," "Faith," "Love," or "Hope" is shown in the arc-shaped aperture at 12 o'clock. The date is replaced by one of 31 unique emojis every day in the window at 3 o'clock.

The dial's striking hues and elaborate design are the result of a painstaking champlevé enamelling process. Jigsaw puzzle pieces serve as inspiration for the motif. Pieces of turquoise blue, red, fuchsia, orange, green, and yellow fit together on a background of a single colour to form a life timeline. Ten baguette-cut sapphires in a rainbow of colours mark the hours, with turquoise blue marking the time on the 18 ct yellow gold and 18 ct white gold models and orange marking the time on the 18 ct Everose gold timepiece.

Calibre 3255, a cutting-edge movement, has been installed in the new iterations of the Day-Date 36, allowing them to show not only the hours, minutes, and seconds but also a unique keyword for each day of the week and an emoji for each day of the month.

The Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36, like all Rolex watches, has been certified as a Superlative Chronometer, indicating that it performs exceptionally well while being worn.

In addition to the date, the Day-Date displays the full day of the week in an arc-shaped window at 12 o'clock on the dial, a technological first when the watch was introduced in 1956. There are 26 language options for the day of the week. Only 18 ct yellow, white, or Everose gold or 950 platinum are used in the construction of Day-Date watches.

Its iconic President bracelet, whose evocative name, combined with the eminent figures who have worn it, ensured the Day-Date became known as the 'presidents' watch,' as it has been worn by many of the world's political figures, directors, and visionaries.

The new Day-Date 36s have a 36 mm Oyster case that is guaranteed to be waterproof to a depth of 100 metres, making them a paragon of durability and sophistication (330 feet). The standard case of these variants is made of solid 18-karat white, yellow, or Everose gold. The movement can only be accessed by certified Rolex watchmakers, who use a special tool to hermetically screw down the case back, which is adorned with delicate fluting. The winding crown, known as a Twinlock, is equipped with a double waterproofness system and screws firmly to the case. The sapphire crystal is scratch-resistant and has an anti-reflective coating, and it has a Cyclops lens at 3 o'clock. The Oyster case is watertight, providing maximum security for the inside movement.

The calibre 3255 was introduced by Rolex in 2015, and the new Day-Date 36 will come with it in 2019. It is an in-house movement that Rolex made. This mechanical movement winds itself and has great accuracy, power reserve, ease of use, and dependability. It is a technological masterpiece.

The Chronergy escapement, featured in the Calibre 3255, is both highly efficient and dependable. This escapement, constructed of nickel-phosphorus, can withstand high magnetic fields without being affected. Rolex uses a blue Parachrom hairspring, a paramagnetic alloy, in their movements. The hairspring has excellent stability across a wide range of temperatures and a high resistance to shocks. The Rolex overcoil guarantees consistent operation from any angle. The movement's resilience to shock is enhanced by the oscillator being mounted on Rolex's patented high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers. An improved ball bearing has been added to the swinging weight.

The self-winding mechanism in the Calibre 3255 is powered by a Perpetual rotor. The superior efficiency of the escapement and the barrel design of calibre 3255 allow for a power reserve of about 70 hours.

The new Day-Date 36 models come with either an 18k yellow or white gold President bracelet or an 18k Everose gold bracelet with a turquoise blue or orange puzzle motif. This three-piece link bracelet is still reserved solely for the Day-Date and precious metal versions of the Datejust; it was originally designed for the 1956 debut of the prestigious Oyster Perpetual Day-Date.

The President bracelet is made with patented ceramic inserts - designed by Rolex - inside the links to increase its flexibility on the wrist and durability. It also features an elegant concealed folding Crownclasp.
