The Concours of Elegance Germany, with a Crucial Bavarian Twist.

The Concours of Elegance Germany is a new addition to the repertoire of the company that is responsible for the world-famous Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace and the London Concours. This new event is being hosted by the German watchmaker A. Lange & Sohne. RM Sotheby's, which is the event's auction partner; Classic Driver, which is the event's media partner; and Kafer, which is the event's hospitality partner, all provide assistance for the event.

The six-day event, which will take place from July 22–27, 2024, will conclude with a 200-car concours that will be staged in Gut Kaltenbrunn, which is located at the tip of Lake Tegernsee and is famed for its beauty, five-star hotels, and world-class gastronomy.

The event will take place over the course of four tour days and two concours days. Tegernsee is a gem of untouched beauty that may be found tucked away in the Bavarian Alps. Its waters are so clean that they create breathtaking landscapes by reflecting the majesty of the surrounding mountains. It provides guests with a calm respite, especially within the gates of Gut Kaltenbrunn, a grand estate that has been a part of Bavarian history for hundreds of years. This location is a combination of tranquility and Bavarian beauty. In the present day, it provides visitors with breathtaking views of the lake, delicious food, and authentic Bavarian friendliness.

Wilhelm Schmid, CEO of A. Lange & Söhne, said: “A. Lange & Söhne has a strong connection with Concours events in Europe and the US. After five years of successful partnership with the Concours of Elegance Hampton Court Palace, it is our great honour to extend our commitment by partnering with the newly established Concours of Elegance Germany. The exclusive event provides a wonderful opportunity to welcome the international car community to our home country. At the same time, we are looking forward to giving all guests fascinating insights into our world of watchmaking. Once again, the parallels of design and craftsmanship between classic cars and our mechanical timepieces create a strong foundation for our partnership.”

Marcus Görig, Car Specialist, Germany, RM Sotheby’s, added: “RM Sotheby’s is delighted to be the official auction partner of the Concours of Elegance Germany. The Concours of Elegance in the UK has established itself as one of the pre-eminent Concours events in Europe, and the addition of a new event in Germany presents a wonderful opportunity for RM Sotheby’s to further establish its reputation in this hugely important market. We look forward to what we know will be a spectacular showcase of wonderful motor cars.”

Before the automobiles settle into their new homes in Gut Kaltenbrunn, they will first go on a journey across the rural landscape of Bavaria. The journey will take place over the course of four days and will focus on the finest examples of Bavarian cuisine, beverages, and culture, as well as the beauty of the region's natural surroundings. After arriving in Gut Kaltenbrunn, the first day of the event will be extremely exclusive, with just 1,200 attendees attending on the condition that they have been invited. On the second day of the event, which is also the public day, there will be more automobiles and more people in attendance.
