Maserati is commemorating the end of production of the legendary 572-horsepower 90° Twin Turbo V8 engine, the heart of the Levante, Ghibli, and Quattroporte in their Trofeo versions. Production of the engine will officially end at the Maserati factory in late 2023.

Powered by the brand's signature engine up to now, these vehicles will continue to be sold through 2024 and are destined to become collector's items for their respective owners. Both the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore, the first fully electric automobile in the company's history, and the Maserati Grecale Folgore, the first fully electric SUV, are the pioneers of this transition. The Trident has always been, and will always be, an innovator. By 2030, all Maseratis will be fully electric, and the company plans to provide electric variants of all of its models by 2025.

This is a momentous occasion for the Modena-based firm, which has always forged ahead while remaining true to its heritage, and for all those who appreciate the classic beauty and cutting-edge performance of Trident's vehicles. The automobiles that are destined to become collectors' items will retain such capabilities in full.

More than a hundred thousand eight-cylinder Maseratis have been produced and sold since 1959, when the Maserati 5000GT was introduced as the first vehicle to feature such a powerful engine; the newest iterations of the Maserati Trofeo, Ghibli 334 Ultima, and Levante V8 Ultima will be presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2023.

Over the four days of Motor Valley Fest in May, Modena will be taken over by the Trident's masterpieces, which will be on display at the city's most recognisable landmarks. For the first time ever, the whole Maserati Folgore lineup, including the futuristic GEN3 Maserati Tipo Folgore, which is contesting in this year's ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, will be on display in Piazza Grande.

Levante, Ghibli, and Quattroporte Zéda editions, all one-offs honouring the V8 engine, will rule Piazza XX Settembre as part of the Trofeo line. The Viale Ciro Menotti dealership will offer a celebration of the GranTurismo's history, from its inception to the present day, with two historic models: the GranTurismo Zéda from the previous generation and the GranTurismo One Off Prisma.
