Launching on World Menopause Day, The Harley Street Menopause & Midlife Clinics

For most women menopause is considered to be something that has to be endured yet with the right help and support, menopause can be a liberating time that empowers and changes their lives.

Launching this October during Menopause Awareness Month, the Harley Street Menopause & Midlife Clinics will open its doors to a team of experienced specialists dedicated to ensure that women are supported in every aspect of their menopausal life.

Headed up by Dr Aamer Khan, medical lead and co-founder of the Harley Street Skin Clinic and respected author of a number of books and articles on ageing and regenerative medicine, the clinical support team will include Sue Moxley, health and beauty editor of Menopause Life Magazine and The Menopause Show presenter on Women’s Radio; leading menopause expert and nutritionist Amanda Place who will provide bespoke nutrition, diet and exercise plans; psychotherapeutic therapist Mary Griffin as well as Marva Williams and a Menopause advisor to businesses and a leading gynaecologist.

The new clinics in Harley Street and Suffolk will offer advice and guidance in nutrition, sex therapy, counselling, coaching and fitness. And as well as conventional HRT and testosterone medication, treatments include regulated Bio Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), which matches the body’s hormones and provides a bespoke replacement. Clients at the Harley Street Menopause Midlife Clinics can test their hormone levels in the convenience of their own home with a dried urine test kit. The results are then analysed by the doctor before a BHRT prescription dependent on the depletion of the client's existing hormones, age, diet and lifestyle is made up by the clinic's specialist pharmacy.

Co-founder Sue Moxley says: “As someone who suffered a particularly bad perimenopause and menopause with a combination of symptoms including brain fog, lack of energy, painful sex and anxiety I know how badly menopause can affect the physical and mental health of women. Menopause can negatively impact on our daily lives, on our work and social lives and on our relationships yet many women continue to endure the many symptoms like embarrassing hot flushes, a lack of sleep, mood swings, weight gain, thinning hair, osteoporosis, leaky bladder and more that can last for years!

"At Harley Street Menopause Midlife Clinics we will be offering BHRT along with other groundbreaking treatments such as vaginal rejuvenation and weight loss injections to give women a really positive lifeline during this challenging time.”

She continues: “We will also be launching a new prescription face cream with Estradiol that specifically targets menopausal skin as well as complementary products such as the Fresh Face Pillow - a contoured pillow which has been proven to improve sleep quality and help ease the symptoms of hot flushes, along with menopause teas, skincare, and supplements.

"We want to help women navigate and ameliorate the effects of perimenopause and menopause so that they can enjoy a new phase of their lives when their children leave home and they have more time to focus on their relationships and explore other interests. This phase of life should and can be truly incredible."
