I love a good back story and Les Monts has one.
I wear sunglasses all year round and have always found it difficult to find the right frames. When I look to get new frames, I love the limited edition ranges. I currently have three designer frames, all limited editions, with a combined value of £6,000.
As we head into the summer season, I now find myself looking for ideas on new frames, something special, and came across a brand called Les Monts, which in French means ‘The Mountains’, paying homage to its founder Casey Klugman’s European heritage as well as his own journey as an artist.
Klugman, a former Ted Baker eyewear designer, his vision for the brand Les Monts is to champion creatives in all fields and celebrate those who dive fearlessly into their endeavors. Talking about the meaning behind the brand name, Klugman says, “mountains are symbolic of the uphill journey creative individuals will endure when going for what they love.”

Their new collection will be manufactured in Northern Italy, home of all things designer as well as quality. I know this first hand as two of my frames were handmade in Italy that took around six weeks to make and almost another week to get to me. Les Monts is building a reputation and over time will be known for its use of resplendent materials, high-gloss finishes and exaggerated frame profiles. With the frames being made in Italy you can expect to see traditional craftsmanship and practices. With only 75 frames per style, they will become extremely exclusive.
Recently, the brand announced that it is partnering up with Mental Health America, the nation’s leading mental health non-profit organisation, with an aim of generating conversations around mental health. Given the last two years, I have to say this is a great partnership.
Each year Les Monts will donate a percentage of annual revenue to Mental Health America (MHA) in support of their continued efforts to promote mental health for all.

Les Monts’ Series I will retail from $375.00 to $415.00 and feature six styles, each available in three unique colorways. The collection will be available for preorder starting April 20, 2022, exclusively on online.
