Heathfield & Co.'s new Origins capsule line of ceramic table lamps draws inspiration from the natural world. Each of the four table lamp designs—Avani, Avani Mini, Kaya, and Ilana—has its own visual identity and symbolic significance. Heathfield & Co. therefore drew inspiration for their names from the linguistic and cultural diversity of the world. Ilana is derived from the Hebrew word for tree, which also means bright light, and Avani is the Indian word for soil. Kaya is the Turkish word for rock or cliff.

All of Heathfield & Co.'s designs heavily rely on the calming effect that natural materials have on their environments. As things stand, there's no better time than now to add some stability and peace to your home. The release of the new Origins series couldn't have come at a better time. With their earthy and muted tones, the Avani, Kaya, and Ilana lights will blend in beautifully with any decor.

Each lamp base is handcrafted from pottery sourced by Heathfield & Co from the central Portuguese region of Alcobaca, which is renowned for its proficiency in producing handmade, beautiful ceramics. Each base is dipped by hand into a liquid glaze before being burned at a high temperature in a kiln. As a result, the material heats up very quickly and develops a lunar surface-like texture. Color is added by dipping each piece by hand into a liquid glaze and firing it again. Due to the nature of the process, no two lamps will ever be identical.

The solid brass ball atop each lamp's neck is a stunning design element exclusive to Heathfield & Co's new Origins line. It's a fine touch that makes the lights attractive whether or not they're on. They are not only beautiful to look at, but also serve as functional pieces of decor.
