Wynn Al Marjan Island: a sun-soaked beachside resort

The new multibillion dollar Wynn Resorts integrated resort opening in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates (UAE), will be called Wynn Al Marjan Island. Al Marjan Island is a series of four islands in the Persian Gulf, and the company has revealed its concept for the architecture of its first beachside resort. Marjan LLC and RAK Hotel Holding LLC, both local companies, are working together to build the resort.

Wynn Al Marjan Island rises more than 1,000 feet (305 metres) above the sea to provide guests with a breathtaking view of the Arabian Gulf and a premium luxury experience, complete with first-rate gaming and entertainment venues. The US-listed developer and luxury resort operator plans to incorporate the pleasant, relaxing ocean backdrop into its cutting-edge, modern, world-class hotel for its debut project in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) area.

The unmistakable silhouette of Wynn Al Marjan Island, with an anticipated project cost of roughly USD 3.9 billion, would revolutionise and accelerate the Emirate's ascension to a major worldwide tourist destination, adding enormous value to its economy through tourism and employment creation. As a result of this project, related industries will expand at a much faster rate. Earlier this year, workers arrived on site to begin laying the foundation.

The approximately 1,500 rooms, suites, and villas will all have the same high-design grandeur that has become the brand's hallmark. In addition to a state-of-the-art events centre and a theatre featuring a one-of-a-kind theatrical play, guests may also enjoy a gaming area, 24 eating and lounge experiences, novel spa and wellness experiences, a high-end shopping esplanade, and much more. The resort will have numerous and varied activities, such as nightly state-of-the-art laser and light shows, making it ideal for both extended stays and day trips from adjacent Emirates.

The surroundings in the area as well as Wynn Resorts' distinctive design style had an impact on Wynn Al Marjan Island. The podium building, reminiscent of a grand opera theatre, mirrors the island's curved beach in its geometry, allowing for breathtaking panoramas of the ocean and sky. Every table at Wynn Al Marjan Island's several restaurants along the beachfront promenade has a spectacular view of the ocean.

"We have spent the past year meticulously programming and concepting Wynn Al Marjan Island, carefully considering its unique location," said Craig Billings, CEO of Wynn Resorts, "I am incredibly proud of our design and development team's ability to impart our legacy of rich, thoughtful design into a sun-soaked beachside resort that will delight customers, new and old. We look forward to opening Wynn Al Marjan Island in early 2027."

The new resort on Al Marjan Island is a showcase for Marjan and for Ras Al Khaimah as a top locations for international investors seeking to build luxury hotels. Today, Al Marjan Island is effortlessly morphing into a world-class resort destination thanks to its rapidly expanding portfolio of luxury five-star hotels and residential developments offering a wide range of amenities and services, as well as its over 7.8 kilometres of sparkling beaches and 23 kilometres of waterfront.

Ras Al Khaimah is one of the MENA region's quickest-growing tourism markets because of its emphasis on ecotourism. The Emirate was included in CNN Travel's top 50 places to visit in 2023 and TIME's World's Greatest Destinations in 2022 thanks to its well-preserved history, rich archaeological legacy, and nature tourist options.
