Triumph: Born into a Peerless Bloodline.

Two completely new models are coming to the Triumph lineup in 2024: the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X. The Scrambler 400 X takes its tough design cues from the Scrambler 900 and 1200, with an off-road pedigree that dates back to the first factory Scramblers of the 1950s. Both the Speed 400 roadster and the Scrambler 400 X are born into an unrivalled bloodline. The Speed 400 roadster joins Triumph's most successful modern classic line-up, the Speed Twin 900 and 1200.

These new models, built from the bottom up with an entirely new single engine platform at their core, are intended to provide riders of all ages and skill levels with a thrilling, nimble, and confident ride.

These affordable new models offer incredible value for money and introduce a new generation of Triumph riders to Triumph's renowned style, quality, and performance. They also have class-leading capability, rider-focused technology, category-leading quality and detail, a high level of standard specification, long service intervals, and a comprehensive warranty.

These two new models for the contemporary classic lineup were developed in Hinckley, UK, with the same meticulous attention to detail as Triumph's most renowned models. They have been created to provide all of the quality, feel, and presence of their larger stablemates and are instantly recognisable owing to their timeless Triumph shapes, characteristic sculpted fuel tanks, and iconic engine profiles.

Traditional features, such as the recognisable finned cylinder head and conventional exhaust header clamps, are combined with modern touches, such as the upswept silencer, striking graphics, and technology that has been sensitively incorporated, such as concealed liquid cooling and a flowing exhaust run with a hidden primary silencer. Together, they all contribute to the distinctive, contemporary, classic Triumph look.

The distinctive black powder-coated engine casings, sturdy gold anodized forks, high-quality paint, and logo details all contribute to the superior finish and beautiful detailing of these new models.

The two-tone paint schemes of the Speed 400, which come in Carnival Red, Caspian Blue, and Phantom Black colours, emphasise its aggressive roadster form and each prominently feature a Triumph tank symbol.

Numerous useful and practical additions, including handguards, a handlebar brace with padding, a larger front mudguard, and protection for the headlamp, radiator, and sump, emphasise the Scrambler 400 X's all-road attitude.

The Scrambler 400 X is offered in three attractive and modern colour schemes: Matt Khaki Green and Fusion White, Carnival Red and Phantom Black, as well as Phantom Black and Silver Ice choices. Each colour scheme includes Triumph's unique 'Scrambler' tank stripe and triangular badge.

Named to honour the illustrious Triumph 'Trophy' lineage, which can be traced back to racing singles in the early 20th century and particularly to off-road competitions like the Six Day Trial. This brand-new 398cc single-cylinder engine, which is fuel-injected and liquid-cooled, combines Triumph's renowned modern classic design with cutting-edge engineering to deliver class-beating performance with a responsive, enjoyable, and distinctive power delivery.

A four-valve DOHC cylinder head and a crankshaft that have been properly balanced and weighted to maximise inertia for low-speed rideability are among the technical features. The capacity-defying performance of this free-revving but tractable engine also benefits from a finger-follower valvetrain with a reduced reciprocating mass and friction-reducing DLC coatings.

The six-speed transmission provides quick, accurate gear selection with evenly spaced ratios to maximise the potential of this charismatic and torque-rich engine.

In addition to offering a more upright and commanding Scrambler riding posture, the Scrambler 400 X has a longer wheelbase, a longer travel suspension, a larger 19-inch front tyre, and wide handlebars for more stability and control when riding on slick conditions. When riding off-road, a larger 320mm front brake disc and an improved pad compound provide reassuringly progressive braking performance in all conditions, while a larger cast steel brake pedal and high-grip foot pegs that are positioned lower and wider also make for a more natural standing riding position.
