THE STORY OF AEOLUS  AT DIBS: SHAPED BY THE WINDS OF CHANGE

Just picture yourself on a floating sanctuary that the breeze has shaped with ease. An intricate and beautifully proportioned pattern. Symbolic of the ease with which we move from one location to another and between different activities in today's world. She is a magnificent Oceanco yacht with the name Aeolus, after the Greek deity of the wind.

She communicates with us on a deep level, much like a sleek automobile or evocative song would. She has a delectable, opulent style without being self-indulgent. Strong without being conceited. insinuating without being overly arrogant. With Aeolus, floating homes have arrived in a new age. Her strikingly elegant proportions and timeless feeling of pure, nature-inspired modernity are the result of her long bow and aft-oriented superstructure, which consists of three separate living areas.

FEMININE AND MASCULINE IN EQUILIBRIUM

The innovative design of Aeolus comes from the mind of Giles Taylor, in collaboration with Oceanco and the interior architects at Njord by Bergman Design House, and it speaks to the hearts of creatives, visionary leaders, innovators, and people who think large. Those who want to make a difference in the world but aren't interested in the limelight, have a healthy respect for personal privacy, and are image-conscious but also profoundly private.

Aeolus is where feminine curves and masculine presence meet in an interesting balance. It is where majestic grace and structural efficiency meet. Her inspiration comes directly from the J-class sailing ships of the previous century. The sea and breeze energies are in perfect sync with one another. The ultimate yachting adventure.

THE PUREST OF SANCTUARIES

Her hull projects two powerful buttresses that face forward, framing an attractive water entrance. Experience your early morning run or evening cocktail party as though you were on a much smaller vessel, closer to nature. The hull design approach taken by Aeolus frees up otherwise blocked off room that is typically allocated to suites that are often vacant; this is a unique perk of the 360-degree experience. Her three unique, glass-enclosed platforms provide multiple vantage points from which to experience the water. A place to entertain, dine, and unwind privately while taking in breathtaking coastal views. As she makes her way slowly but easily through the pod-like formations to the owner's private oasis, she reaches a frequency that resonates with those on board like no other; it is the purest of sanctuaries.

ART, THE BODY AND NATURE ENTWINE

The exterior of Aeolus has been designed to emphasise the romance of mobility while at sea. She effortlessly brings the expansive outdoors in, where it can serve as a source of motivation and introspection. Her interior is a harmonious fusion of sensuality, timelessness, organic sustainability, the body, and the natural world.

Aeolus's interior is comprised of vast, multi-use areas that are intuitively shaped to feel welcoming and open, without confining boundaries. Aeolus's designers were inspired to create her by a need to live in harmony with the surrounding sea and land. The interior design is a harmony of colour and form, with a variety of textures and forms that complement each other.

A PRIVATE RETREAT

If you want your floating house to feel like a private oasis at sea, then the Aeolus is the perfect choice. She makes sure you have enough bedrooms for family and special guests, and that your master suite has the best view in the home by strategically placing it on the highest floor. You have the option of keeping the bar and relaxation space on the upper level of the owner's deck to yourself or inviting guests up there to enjoy them. It's easy to picture yourself enjoying some downtime or conducting some business in this extraordinary retreat, with its unobstructed ocean view providing the ultimate in privacy in which to ponder the present and future of the world.

The upper deck is the level below the main living area, and it is here that you will find the master bedroom, a cosy enclave with unobstructed views, a beautiful sunken bathroom, and a cosy nook for quiet reflection. The upper deck's aft section is devoted to a multipurpose room where passengers can unwind, entertain guests, or hold a business event. The room is completely glazed, offering breathtaking views, and its symmetrical design is reminiscent of the grand ocean liners of yesteryear.

Imagine enjoying aperitifs on the aft deck with a table prepared for al fresco dining and a stunning interior to retreat to as the temperature outside drops. A pool and lounging area are seamlessly incorporated into the main deck at the stern, and steps lead down to the beach club below. The Aeolus welcomes guests on the main deck lounge, which features a staircase leading up to an inner atrium that can be used for dining, meeting day guests, and holding drinks receptions or business meetings.

Forward on the main level, close to the fitness centre and an exterior atrium with expansive views of both sides and the ocean, are two guest suites. On the lower level, you'll find two VIP suites and two guest suites, both of which are conveniently located near the beach club's many activities and the fold-down terraces that provide stunning views of the water from a variety of cosy, private nooks. Its sit-up bar is located beneath the glistening pool skylight above, and a nearby private space can be modified to suit a variety of needs, making this venue suitable for anything from an afternoon pool party to a more formal evening gathering. Access all decks with ease thanks to the elevator and staircase that run along the centre of the ship and lead directly to the beach club, where tenders are waiting to take you and your guests onshore.

LEAVING NO TRACE WITH BIOMATERIALS

Aeolus is congruent with Oceanco's NXT project because she is in step with modern environmental and social norms. She demonstrates that cutting-edge technology and high-end materials need not be mutually exclusive with ecology in the future. The biomaterials and other completely sustainable and traceable materials are introduced in a strong language within Aeolus's interior. Her makers have carefully chosen eco-friendly and ethical vendors to outfit Aelous. Suitable alternatives to exotic hardwoods will be put in places like lower-impact flooring.

Desserto, a high-end vegan leather substitute made from plants that are good for the environment and the climate, will be used to decorate her cabin. Oliveri Homes, a company that only buys from farms that follow the Global Organic Textile Standard and only uses dyes and finishing techniques that don't use chemicals, will provide the linens on board. The possibilities for this partnership to design futuristic homes, which begins with Aeolus, are vast and can be realised both on land and in water.

A FUTURE-PROOFED PATHWAY TO NET ZERO

Aeolus's technical partners, ABB and MTU, have worked with Oceanco and Lateral to create a flexible architecture that will allow for a future-proofed route to net zero. Predicting what might happen in the future helps yacht designers make well-informed decisions about the yacht's plan, configuration, technology, and specification, all of which will help ensure the yacht will not become obsolete before its expected lifespan is up. There will be a dramatic shift in the types of fuel and supporting technologies accessible during the "energy transition," so any yacht constructed now will have to last through it.

So that new technologies and alternative fuels can be added with as little trouble as possible, the technical architecture must be as flexible as possible. Lateral and Oceanco made the Energy Transition Platform (ETP) so that many different technical paths could be taken as technologies improved during the energy transition period. In her current form, Aeolus represents the cutting edge of technology; she is a completely procurable and warrantable example of cutting-edge diesel electric architecture. In her idealised "end state," Aeolus would be outfitted with a combination fuel-cell and internal combustion engine that would supply all of her electrical power needs. Importantly, a pre-planned and intermediate upgrade can be enacted during her lifetime, provided that the necessary technologies become commercially available.
