The Return of the Sustainability Hub at MYS 2023

The Monaco Yacht Show has shared that the Sustainability Hub will be back again for the second edition of the event. This specialised exhibition area will once again display firms that specialise in environmentally friendly technology and strive to reduce the negative impact that superyachts have on the surrounding environment.

The Sustainability Hub is an incubator for creative and environmentally friendly solutions. It is located in Darse Sud's exhibition area, which is around 200 square metres in size and is dedicated to nautical equipment and technology. It serves as a forum for both well-established businesses that provide tried-and-true eco-friendly alternatives and nascent start-up businesses that want to build a name for themselves in the yachting sector with innovative concepts.

The Sustainability Hub's participant selection process involves the Water Revolution Foundation in a significant way. Because of this relationship, only qualified businesses that offer genuine and workable solutions to environmental problems will be allowed to participate in the expo.

Since 2005, the Monaco Yacht Show has been committed to conducting itself in an environmentally responsible manner, and the establishment of the Sustainability Hub is in keeping with this long-standing commitment. Over the course of its existence, the exhibition has been an integral part of efforts to increase environmental consciousness within the Monaco-based and international yachting communities.

Gaëlle Tallarida, Managing Director of the MYS, emphasised the show's dedication to sustainability, stating, "The Monaco Yacht Show has been at the forefront of raising environmental awareness since joining the Carbon Neutral programme in 2005. Our pioneering approach to sustainability led to the establishment of the Sustainability Hub last year. As one of the industry's major voices, we fully embrace our social responsibility. This dedicated area for eco-friendly yachting alternatives is part of our extended sustainability programme, which encompasses the entire show's logistics and layout here in the port of Monaco. We aim to support exhibitors, service providers, and visitors alike in finding viable solutions to environmental challenges."

Robert Van Tol, Executive Director of the Water Revolution Foundation, expressed his enthusiasm for the return of the Sustainability Hub, stating, "The Sustainability Hub's second year at the Monaco Yacht Show is a crucial confirmation that there is a growing momentum in yachting. Ever more important is the proof of the environmental credentials claimed. The show has been supportive of the vetting criteria, demonstrating its leading position in the field and utilising the Water Revolution Foundation's expertise in sustainability. This exhibition area is designed to showcase technologies that bring concrete improvements to the world of yachting, including the health of the oceans. We are committed to finding, verifying, promoting, and rewarding sustainable solutions and driving the necessary change."

A relationship between the Monaco Yacht Show and Siemens Energy, which will see the latter company serve as the sponsor of the Sustainability Hub. This partnership provides a once-in-a-lifetime chance for all of the industry's stakeholders to connect with Siemens Energy and talk about the incorporation of renewable energy sources and clean fuels into an exclusive Energy Management and Propulsion System. This system was developed with electric and hybrid boats in mind, with the end goal of lowering and maintaining control of emissions. The goal of the Monaco Yacht Show is to further strengthen its commitment to promoting a responsible and ecologically friendly attitude throughout the whole yachting sector. In order to achieve this goal, the Monaco Yacht Show has joined forces with Siemens Energy.
