The Owners Vision

Bringing the owner’s vision for the vessel’s aesthetic to life onboard this 58-metre yacht was the mission of the Design Unlimited team, with the spirit of adventure serving as the primary focus. The end result is an interior that is not only far more advanced than that of conventional explorer boats, but also takes you on a voyage that is entirely its own.

The owner of Pink Shadow wanted to begin global exploration in a more convivial manner, with the goal of entertaining family and friends in different areas of the world and being aboard for longer periods of time. This was the motivation for the development of Pink Shadow.

In order to create a broad variety of diverse social areas and settings that would be suitable for both the day-to-day living onboard as well as for entertaining, we began the process of modifying the arrangement of the 58-metre platform.

There are six cabins at Pink Shadow that can accommodate a total of twelve guests, and there are also alternatives to accommodate an extra five guests if that becomes necessary. Each individual guest cabin is a compelling area in its own right, with a unique motif that is unique to that cabin. A siesta room with a day bed and an owner’s lounge are located close to the enormous master bedroom, which provides additional conveniences.

The 1982 movie’s direct influence on the Fitzcarraldo lounge’s design. The colours and patterns in the movie served as inspiration for our design choices, and one of the statement pieces is a rug that depicts the Fitzcarraldo boat cruising down the Amazon. The rustic boat bar evokes a sense of a new lease on life as it flows out onto the outdoor deck where the lounge is located.

A compelling and dynamic mixture is created by embracing an unorthodox mix of textures, which includes leathers and gorgeous velvets, and by combining elements from the outdoors into the interior design of the space. With the use of these high-quality materials, the distinction between the interior and outdoor living areas is blurred, which adds a touch of luxury to the combination.

Unlike the Fitzcarraldo lounge, the Havana lounge is located forward on the top deck. It is a cigar bar that focuses on late-night beverages and discussion, in contrast to the Fitzcarraldo lounge. There are doors that open through to a small deck area that encompasses a canopy and provides seating with views over the bow of the vessel.

Additionally, the bridge is outfitted with the same high-end interior finishes, and it features a sizable sofa that allows the owner and visitors to come and join the bridge crew in order to get a glimpse of the boat’s capabilities and manoeuvres. In this setting, which is designed to evoke the treetops and canopy of a tropical rainforest, you will be seated amid painted birds from the tropics.

It was noted at the 2024 Boat International Design & Innovation Awards that the beach club, which is a feature of Pink Shadow’s design, received a Judges’ Commendation for its outstanding design. Walls made of bamboo and timber that have been painted and naturally worn give this eclectic area the appearance of having been gathered while strolling along the beach. The area is filled with colours that flow together in a beautiful manner, and the bar counter that makes a statement is framed by a mosaic ceiling. An infinity-edged Jacuzzi tub can be found at the aft of the vessel, and balconies stretch from the side of the vessel, complete with hanging chairs that allow you to be suspended over the water’s surface.

Amazonas is a bar that is located on the top deck. There is a statement bar counter and BBQ grill in this area, as well as an al fresco eating area and a Jacuzzi tub with uninterrupted views in all directions across the room.
