The Cinque Terre: Celebrating the Beauty of the Italian Riviera
A spectacular, one-of-a-kind Bespoke automobile that embodies the captivating charm and intriguing viticultural legacy of the legendary Italian Riviera, the Phantom "Inspired by Cinque Terre" is a limited edition model that Rolls-Royce has unveiled.
The untamed coast of Liguria in northern Italy is home to the Cinque Terre, which translates to "Five Lands" in Italian. The mediaeval maritime communities of Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore are perched on cliffs and are renowned worldwide for their exquisitely terraced vineyards that provide breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. These vineyards are a genuine winemaking miracle.
This amazing automobile celebrates the region's breathtaking vineyards with exquisite Bespoke features. A delicate grape design complements the hand-applied double coachline in Navy Blue and Jasmine, which further accentuates the exterior's deep, rich Ligurian blue finish.
Phantom Cinque Terre
The rear doors have a delicate grape-branch embroidery that complements the classic interior, which has Navy Blue and Grace White leather with touches of Jasmine. There are 9,215 stitches in each piece, created with two distinct methods. Satin stitch embroidery is used to create the realistic tone and glossy appearance of each grape by precisely positioning the threads in relation to the angle at which light hits the surface. The Bespoke Collective used a flatter tatami thread for the grape leaf, which adds a textural contrast and improves the tactile aspects of the embroidery.
The two picnic tables also have a detailed inlay of grapes, crafted from stainless steel and plated in gold. To give the colour depth and brightness, the surfaces were initially painted a mild shade of Milori blue with a hint of shine. Then, the inlays were carefully hand-applied and coated with a transparent lacquer. Ultimately, the surface underwent painstaking sanding and hand polishing to create a flawless, seamless finish.
The Bespoke Starlight Headliner is enhanced above with an intricately embroidered map of Italy, consisting of 14,338 stitches. Five brilliant stars that were painstakingly hand-placed at the beach's edge serve as a representation of the Cinque Terre settlements. It took the Bespoke Collective more than a month to finalise the design, going through many iterations in order to find the ideal line weight for the embroidery: broad enough to show off the thread's glitter but delicate enough to capture every last detail of Italy's shape.
A magnificent piece of specially commissioned art that perfectly reflects the colours, architecture, and lively energy of Cinque Terre is housed in the gallery located within the car's large fascia. The composition, which depicts an imagined fusion of components from each of the five cliffside settlements, was digitally drawn first, then manually airbrushed with water-based acrylic paint to produce an exceptionally fine degree of detail, and then sealed with many layers of clear lacquer. The main parts of the picture are placed thoughtfully throughout the gallery so that everyone within the automobile may readily appreciate its wonderful nuances.
Inside the glove compartment is a finishing flourish: silver debossing that represents the five communities.
The commissioning client's collection now includes Phantom, "Inspired by Cinque Terre." It is a genuine, one-of-a-kind custom that will never be made again.
