POSSESSION PALACE DÉCOR: UNBRIDLED CREATIVITY

The skilled goldwork, hefty metal, pavé of precious stones, centre diamond setting, gadroons on the outer body, and whirling band are all immediately apparent. This new collection shows that Piaget is getting back to its roots by displaying the brand's trademark aesthetic. Think about what it would be like to wear the jewellery while you admire its size and design. Each piece of jewellery from the Piaget atelier fascinates the minute it touches the skin due to its bold design, large size (reminiscent of the 1990s), and painstaking attention to detail.

Remember your best times by turning the band in one direction. Invert it to make something brand new. This ring is a talisman, so stop wishing and start doing. Diamonds and sapphires, two of the purest and most intense gemstones known to man, are just two of the precious stones that find their ideal match in the goldwork of these exquisite pieces, which are set in a spectrum of colours. Everyone can agree on the stunning elegance of the Possession Palace Décor ring, which may be crafted in either rose or white gold and in a variety of sizes and settings. The diamond is held in place by two gold brackets with intricate engravings, creating the illusion that the stone is floating in midair, and the setting shares the same name. In contrast to the pavé version, which features a double row of diamonds in two different diameters, the version with a row of pavé diamonds beside the Palace Décor band is highlighted by a bigger set diamond. The second version has a more contemporary and elegant look because of the Palace Décor etching that frames the diamonds.

The rings are the collection's "flagship," much like the crown gem. Two of the gold variants have a single set diamond, while the third features two rows of pavé diamonds on either side of the focal motif and is sure to be the centre of attention. The bangle's Palace Décor body, the central mini-spinning band, and the central diamond placed between two brackets all stand out.

Benjamin Comar has been CEO of the integrated manufacturing at Plan-Les-Ouates, just outside of Geneva, for the past two years. What exactly was the point of all this shuffling around? The manufacture of jewellery has become more streamlined and efficient as a result of this shift. It was no easy task to restructure the whole design and production process of this company in time for its spring 150th anniversary celebration. Their achievements are based not just on their technical abilities but also on the human will to go beyond the limits of what was previously thought feasible. They collaborated on a plan to radically reconsider Piaget's conventional norms. It was no small task to make larger items, designed to meet the needs of ordinary life, convey the same aesthetic personality as the best high jewellery. The manufacturer's teams were inspired by Frank Sinatra's "Fly Me to the Moon," which became the code name for the strategy that sent Piaget into space at record speed.

Piaget has marketed itself as a Maison de la Horlogerie since 1874, and in that time it has perfected a number of mechanical procedures requiring extraordinary precision. Throughout time, the artisans at the manufactory mastered the techniques required to create exquisite jewellery. The Possession bangle makes a dramatic statement because it combines innovative techniques with a striking design and the Maison's storied design history. This contributes to the jewellery's lovely balance and finish. The exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail of Piaget's jewellers are on full display in these works.

Palace Décor, a method of engraving gold that lends it body and substance, has been a part of Piaget's collections since the 1960s. Its shape and function draw inspiration from the guilloché technique, which was originally employed for watch dials. Its singularity is easily visible, possession even in dim conditions. Piaget's legacy rests on the idea that sophistication and risk-taking go hand in hand.

By making Palace Décor the centrepiece of its collection, Piaget is able to offer context to the evolving concept of possession over the course of the company's existence. The collection is both modern and current, which is what really impresses us about it now. Every Piaget Possession piece is a masterpiece in its own right—light, distinct, and easily recognisable thanks to its unique design and signature details. Knowledge breeds feeling.
