LIVE BRAVE: To be Strong, Healthy and Confident.
It's easy to feel overwhelmed when trying to figure out how to improve your lifestyle, reduce weight, get toned and fit, or any combination of these things when it comes to your health because there are so many different methods to do any of these things. There are moments when I wonder whether I wouldn't be better off with a single platform that addresses all of my needs, and I believe I have discovered such a platform with LIVE BRAVE.
In 2021, Louise Buttler established Live Brave as a response to the fact that her husband, England cricketer Jos Buttler, had turned to Pilates as a means of maintaining his fitness while the country was under lockdown. After finding the workout approach while helping her mother recover from the side effects of chemotherapy, Louise decided to get certified as a teacher. Louise is a strong supporter of the life-changing potential of Pilates, whether it is for the avoidance of injuries and the speedy recovery from such injuries, for maintaining fitness throughout pregnancy, or for general strength. Louise has recently finished her Polestar Complete Teacher Training and is a certified Stott Pilates instructor as well.
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a form of exercise for the complete body that was once known as “Contrology.” Its goal is to enhance one's ability to do everyday tasks and maintain a livelihood. Even though there is a strong focus on core exercises, just improving core strength is not the ultimate aim. Instead, the objective is to make use of that core power to generate movement patterns that are both useful and sustainable across the rest of the body.
Joseph Pilates developed these exercises at the beginning of the 20th century. They include coordinating movement with breathing in order to train the body's smaller and deeper stabilising muscles in addition to its larger and more superficial movers. Pilates will realign your body's general structure and provide your joints with the support they need. When properly executed with proper form, something that initially looks straightforward can really be deceptively tough and highly powerful.
Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that aims to generate ideal strength by balancing the muscles and fine-tuning the neuromuscular processes in the body.
The nonrigid strength that may be achieved via persistent Pilates exercise is excellent because it strikes a balance between strength, mobility, and flexibility. It makes it easier for you to move and breathe so that you may go about your regular activities with more mobility and power while experiencing less discomfort.
Key highlights of Pilates:
Pilates helps you develop muscles that are both functionally fit and work well with the rest of your body as you move through life. Pilates uses an eccentric contraction, a kind of muscle contraction, to help build physical endurance and strength. When you lengthen a muscle when it's under strain, this kind of muscular contraction happens. Pilates exercises frequently require you to move carefully while defying gravity, such as while performing tricep pushups or releasing tension on a Pilates ring.
The deep muscles of the back, abdomen, and pelvic floor make up the body's core muscles. A strong, flexible back, excellent posture, and effective movement patterns are all supported by these muscles.
Pilates also activates the muscles and spine, improves breathing and circulation, and infuses the body with the positive emotions that come from working out the entire body. You have greater energy the more you workout. Also, you'll feel more motivated to complete your fitness regimen the more energised you are. Pilates is a fantastic, low-impact workout that you can do on a regular basis.
You will also notice that your physique will alter if you frequently do Pilates. Pilates, which is renowned for building strong, solid muscles, enhances muscular tone, balances the musculature, maintains lovely posture, and teaches you how to move with grace and elegance. You may look and feel really fit by doing all of these things. In order to lose weight, you must burn more calories than you consume. Pilates, a full-body exercise programme, can assist you in achieving that. Pilates transforms into a top tool for body toning and weight reduction when combined with cardiovascular exercise and a good eating regimen.
With up to 15 new classes added each month, the LIVE BRAVE platform currently offers over 600 classes that are available on demand. These classes range from beginner to advanced levels and include prenatal and postnatal programmes.
