The kitchen is sometimes referred to as the “beating heart” of the home since it is the primary gathering spot for family members and the location where meals such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner are prepared and consumed. It is a room that lends itself well to either an office or the creation of something unique. It is difficult to conceive of a house that does not contain a kitchen. Because of this, any person who owns a home will spend a great deal more time ensuring that the colours, fittings, and furniture are all exactly correct. This, in most cases, lays the foundation for the general theme that will be used throughout the entire property.

On the other hand, for some people, it can be beneficial to have someone they can reach out to for help who not only has the experience but also the inspiration and the ability to make their idea a reality. Here is where Ledbury Studios, which was established by Charlie Smallbone, comes into play. Charlie and his team have a long history of designing kitchens for families who have particular requirements or who simply want a professional to take care of finding materials for them.

The proud homeowners of this breathtaking property in Poole are happy to confirm the fact that Ledbury Studio fashions kitchens that are one-of-a-kind and tailored specifically to each individual client. “It was love at first sight when they saw the eclectic range of materials on display at our studio in Notting Hill,” says Ledbury Studio founder Charlie Smallbone. This, along with the expertise of Ledbury Studio in combining and contrasting these lovely materials to produce designs that are really one-of-a-kind, was precisely in line with the client’s goal for a modern kitchen that exudes “wow factor,” and the client was thrilled with the results.

The Poole Harbour Kitchen, which was designed by Ledbury Studios for one of their clients in the Notting Hill neighbourhood of London, is without a doubt one of my favorite examples of their work.

When the owners went to the studio in Notting Hill, they fell in love with the unusual variety of materials that were on display in the showroom. This gave them the opportunity to really individualise their kitchen in a way that they had not seen anywhere else.

Having completed the considerable building work that was necessary to create the open-concept, light-filled area that is presently present in the world. Charlie fashioned a screen out of black-stained oak and aged brass to enclose the kitchen, which served the purpose of subdividing the enormous room into several smaller work areas. When viewed from this vantage point, one’s gaze is immediately drawn to the arresting mirrored backsplash that has had aged copper added to it. It serves as a breathtaking backdrop for the island and is another topic of conversation thanks to the verdigris copper panels that are framed in black-stained oak on one side and the black-stained oak cabinet doors that are bordered by aged brass on the other side.

A rack made of aged brass was added to the design created by Ledbury Studio. This was done so that the various metallic elements could be brought together. This results in the creation of a compact area for displaying lovely things. The poured concrete flooring and the base cupboards that run in an L-shaped design to the island both contribute to the space’s overall neutral tone. The cabinets are constructed from oak and painted white to highlight the natural beauty of the wood’s grain. They have a pale quartz worktop on top of them and patinated brass surrounds and kickplates to match the other cupboards in the kitchen.

There is also a bank of built-in tall cupboards that are shared with the space and are illuminated by an LED surround. They are equipped with a huge larder for the storage of food, ovens, and a refrigerator, and the fronts of the cupboards are crafted from liquid metal and finished with a specialised shagreen pattern. Handles made of aged brass bring the whole thing together. “Every Ledbury Studio kitchen is truly unique, and this one was no exception,” says Charlie. “Our clients were thrilled with the result, and in particular, with the range of materials used.”
