Simon Cowell, a well-known music tycoon and television personality, received one of the first customer examples of David Brown Automotive's recently unveiled, all-new, all-electric Mini eMastered.

The announcement coincides with the release of David Brown Automotive's Mini eMastered model, a beautiful and immaculate city vehicle reimagined for today's and tomorrow's roads.

David Brown Automotive, a renowned British firm known for its hand-built automobile designs, is entering an exciting new chapter with the debut of Mini eMastered. Every custom-built, highly customised David Brown Automotive vehicle seamlessly combines classic British design and engineering innovation with ultimate luxury and timeless workmanship.

Cowell's customised Mini eMastered, like all of the British company's meticulously updated commissions, took hundreds of hours to meticulously construct by hand using a recently reinforced and de-seamed donor shell, lavishly equipped both inside and out, and fitted with a cutting-edge, simple-to-use EV drivetrain.

Cowell comments: “This has always been my dream car. It was on my wish list; one day I wanted to have a classic Mini. Then I read about this company, and I thought, I've got to have one of those.
“I have to say, of all the cars I’ve ever had in my life, this is my favourite, this is a keeper. When I went to the factory, you could tell that every single person had really given their heart and soul into this, there's so much passion behind it… you know this car has character.”

After receiving his 2019 Mini Remastered order from David Brown Automotive, Cowell decided he wanted to modernise it further by adding an all-electric drivetrain. David Brown Automotive then took his original Mini Remastered and transformed it into a Mini eMastered, which is now equipped with an all-electric drivetrain that is clean, quiet, and incredibly powerful. It's the ultimate electric city runabout, a perfect vehicle for driving in the city or the countryside since it combines classic elegance with cutting-edge electric vehicle technology.

The Mini eMastered is also certain to win the traffic light grand prix because of its small Zonic 70 electric engine, which produces 72 kW (97 hp) and 175 Nm of immediate torque. It can reach an electronically limited peak speed of 92 mph.

Each Mini eMastered's electric technology is perfectly enclosed within the iconic Mini form. Batteries totaling 18.8 kWh are stored beneath the epidermis. Because of the "right-sized" battery, the Mini maintains its renowned "go-kart" performance by maintaining a low weight. In actuality, this updated model weighs no more than the vintage original petrol model because of the technical brilliance of David Brown Automotive.

As Cowell explains: “I've never ever driven a car in my life which is remotely close to a go kart - apart from this, it’s brilliant. This is the closest I've got because it is low. Now with the electric motor, you’ve got that immediate torque, so you have instant acceleration as soon as you hit the accelerator, that’s the beauty of driving electric.”

Little eMastered is WLTP certified and has a 110-mile range on a single charge. It can be fully charged in 3 hours on a home wall box because of its lightweight design and exceptional efficiency.

Like every request from David Brown Automotive, Cowell's Mini eMastered is a completely custom design with a distinct set of specifications.
