FASTEST. SUPERIOR IN STRENGTH. OUTSTANDING CONTROL.

Unique among sport utility vehicles (SUVs), the brand-new DBX707 is here. One that puts Aston Martin at the top of its field by combining unprecedented levels of speed, agility, handling precision, distinctive good looks, and unrivalled comfort. The DBX707 is the pinnacle of SUV design, with a wealth of personality and enticing capability.

Fastest. Superior in strength. Outstanding control. These are the three purposes for which the DBX707 was designed. Instead of aimlessly emulating others, it succeeded by setting its own standards and following its own path. For Aston Martin, this meant ensuring that there is nuance behind the numbers, which translates to unrivalled power and speed coupled with extraordinary precision, dynamic flair, and true engagement, making for an engrossing and impressively unique driving experience. Blade among hammers.

The DBX707 is a wonderful expansion on the already impressive design, performance, and driver-pleasing nature of the V8 DBX. The performance, driving pleasure, and road presence of the car have all been improved.

Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer, Tobias Moers, said of the DBX707: “Right from its first introduction, the DBX has represented Aston Martin’s dynamic and design values in a way that proves not all SUVs have to conform to the same compromises. With the DBX707, we have pushed the boundaries in every area to create a car which sets new standards of performance and desirability. The fastest, most powerful, best handling, and most engaging car of its kind, it propels Aston Martin to the pinnacle of SUV performance.”

The engineering team at Aston Martin began with the engine, aiming to maximise the DBX’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8’s performance capability. With the use of ball bearing turbochargers and a custom engine calibration, Aston Martin’s Head of Powertrain Engineering, Ralph Illenberger, was able to coax even more power and torque out of the DBX707. A new 9-speed automatic ‘wet clutch’ transmission is also included in Aston Martin’s flagship high-performance SUV. This high-performance transmission allows the 4.0-liter V8 to produce 707 horsepower and 900 Newton-meters of torque—increases of 157 horsepower and 200 nm over the DBX—thanks to its ability to handle far higher torque loadings than a standard torque converter automatic (V8).

Further advantages result from using the new wet clutch transmission. Changing gears is notably quicker than with a torque converter transmission. A drastic departure in personality from the DBX, the shift now seems more rapid and direct, giving the driver a greater sense of control and responsiveness (V8). The DBX707’s enhanced launch capability also contributes to its lightning-fast 0-62 mph time of 3.3 seconds.

Aston Martin’s Head of Powertrain, Ralph Illenberger said: “With this exceptional new model we have truly unlocked the performance potential within the DBX to create a world beating high-performance SUV. The huge gains we have found in both power and torque demonstrates not only the inherent prowess of the 4.0-litre biturbo V8, but Aston Martin’s appetite and ability for finding uncompromising engineering solutions. The combination of this magnificent engine with a new 9-speed ‘wet-clutch’ transmission sits at the heart of DBX707’s formidable capabilities and unforgettable character.”

The DBX707’s air suspension system is a major contributor to the car’s superb maneuverability. While the DBX V8, widely regarded as the best-handling SUV on the market, retains the basic architecture and triple volume air chambers of its predecessor, the DBX707 includes a specialised chassis tune tailored to its unyielding needs and ambitions.

Beginning with the suspension, the DBX707’s body control and steering response have been enhanced through new damper valving and recalibrated dynamic spring volume switching. The electronic power steering system was also fine-tuned to enhance steering feel, with more effort being built up off centre to give the driver a better sense of growing cornering loads and available grip.

Combined with tighter management of heave (vertical movement over bumps and crests or in compressions), pitch (when the car dives under braking or squats under acceleration), and body roll, DBX707 gives the driver an easier ability to adjust the yaw of the car with natural pedal or steering inputs. Further refinements to the eARC (Electronic Active Roll Control) system have been made, with revised parameters that increase the car’s agility and improve its dynamic balance.

Changes and improvements to the DBX707’s Dynamic Drive modes further establish the system’s commitment to the driver. The “Race Start” feature is accessible in GT Sport and Sport+ modes to maximise the off-the-line acceleration and fully exhibit the improved performance. By updating the active logic in the transfer case of the all-wheel-drive system, we were able to create a more seamless integration between the drivetrain and the ESP system, resulting in responsive handling and a feel more akin to that of a sports vehicle.

When it comes to putting the driver in charge, the DBX707 provides a new drive mode selection console on the vehicle’s lower console. Instead of digging through the infotainment system’s submenus, the driver may now adjust crucial dynamic modes and settings with the tip of a finger. These include an active exhaust switch that lets you open the valves of the new quad tailpipe sports exhaust system at any speed, independent of the vehicle’s drive mode, and a suspension mode button that locks in manual gear selection like a sports car. The DBX707 has undergone a comprehensive redesign on the inside and outside to match the considerable engineering enhancements it has undergone. Overtly sporting, yet retaining the elegance and precision for which Aston Martin is renowned, the end product is nothing short of magnificent.

The DBX’s new front end features an enlarged grille, redesigned daytime running lights (DRL), reshaped air vents and brake cooling ducts, and a revised splitter profile. Expanded to improve airflow to the ultra-high performance V8 and new 9-speed transmission, the matte chrome grille now boasts double vanes, with the six horizontal bars divided to add visual interest and identify this model as the top of the line.

Dark satin chrome window surrounds and new louvred bonnet blades coordinate perfectly with the front grille and gloss black splitter, continuing along the flanks with gloss black side sills, which now feature a deeper and more heavily sculpted profile to give the DBX707 a ground-hugging stance.  DBX707 also welcomes the addition of soft-close doors, further enhancing the SUV’s luxury credentials.

Equally dramatic is the focus on the back end. The addition of a new lip spoiler to the roof wing improves aerodynamics by lowering lift and increasing high-speed stability, while the twin rear diffuser has been greatly increased in size to accommodate the new large diameter quad exhaust system. This new exhaust system has been fine-tuned to provide a distinctive sound, and its satin black finish pairs nicely with the diffuser’s gloss black treatment. A redesigned rear bumper with integrated quarter panel vents completes the redesign, further emphasising the DBX707’s powerful form.

Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, adds: “The key to DBX707’s design DNA is capturing the confidence that comes from its dynamic supremacy. When you are the alpha SUV you don’t have to try too hard, therefore, we concentrated on those areas of the design that would make the DBX707 instantly recognisable as the highest performing model. Naturally, function is the driver for some of the changes - most notably the larger grille aperture, rear spoiler and optional 23in wheels - but elsewhere - such as the side sills and rear bumper - we expressed the DBX707’s immense performance in ways that create a more aggressive stance and greater muscularity. The result is a design that exudes potency while retaining our commitment to pure lines and perfect proportions. DBX707 is a true performance beast, yet retains the beauty and elegance you expect from Aston Martin’s DNA”

Inside, basic equipment includes sporty seats that complement the vehicle’s sports motif (Comfort seats are available as a no-cost option).
