FABERGÉ X KING CHARLES III: Heritage Coronation Crown Surprise Locket.

In honour of King Charles III’s coronation, Fabergé has added two commemorative lockets to its Heritage collection.

To commemorate this momentous occasion, the British Hallmarking Council introduced a new hallmark featuring the likeness of King Charles III on their gold State Coach Surprise Locket and their Heritage Yellow Gold Diamond and Red Guilloché Enamel Coronation Crown. This hallmark can be added to any piece of Fabergé jewellery or custom order placed this year upon request, further boosting the collectibility of these unique lockets. The royal crimson guilloché enamel on the egg lockets and the 17 round brilliant cut white diamonds in 18k yellow gold are a fitting tribute to royalty. Each one has a secret surprise inside that can be unveiled with the push of a diamond button, in classic Fabergé fashion.

A small version of the Gold State Coach, a stunning sight at royal coronations, jubilees, and celebrations since its construction in 1762 to transport British monarchs and queens, is featured in the Heritage Coronation Gold State Coach Surprise Locket. The little carriage has a diamond set into the side of the door and rests on a platform made of carnelian-carved stone.

Being one of the most revered symbols of British history, St. Edward’s Crown served as inspiration for the design of the Heritage Coronation Crown Surprise Locket. The Fabergé crown surprise is made of 18-karat yellow gold and hand-decorated with royal purple lacquer; it is set with four blue sapphires, ten emeralds, and two rubies, all from Gemfields in Zambia and Mozambique, respectively, and rests on a platform of carved carnelian stone.

Gemfields ethically mines and sells coloured stones from the world’s greatest reserves, reinvesting profits into the nations of origin. Gemfields is committed to ensuring that the gemstone mining industry operates with the utmost honesty, legitimacy, and respect for the environment and local populations.
