Electric E-Type: Admired - and Enjoyed - by Generations to Come.

The Jaguar E-Type (or XK-E) owned by a customer and outfitted with one of Electrogenic's revolutionary plug-and-play 'drop-in' EV conversion kits was recently unveiled. The British EV company Electrogenic is well-known internationally for its market-leading, classic car EV conversions.

The Oxford, UK-based company's unique, patented EV powertrain component has changed the magnificent 1962 Series 1 Roadster, ensuring the longevity of the gorgeous British design landmark. This straightforward, fully reversible package, which is installable by one of Electrogenic's growing network of partner installers around the world, gives the stunning machine from the 1960s sensational, clean electric performance, dramatically improving its usability and ensuring its complete dependability.

The lightweight design of the electric version of the '60s machine is a result of Electrogenic's careful packaging and battery pack design. The 'drop-in' kits include the cutting-edge technology that has driven Electrogenic's rapid expansion in recent years. This technology has been refined through a large number of custom EV conversion projects. Electrogenic's extensive network of distributors makes the kits available worldwide.

Steve Drummond, Co-Founder, Electrogenic, said: “We’re delighted to reveal the first customer E-Type fitted with our game-changing drop-in conversion kit. Thanks to our cutting-edge, proprietary EV technology, the E-Type—for many the most beautiful car of all—is now just as good to drive as it is to look at. Our drop-in kit range preserves this true British design icon for the future, ensuring it can be admired and enjoyed by generations to come.”

Among the several 'drop-in' kit options provided by Electrogenic's 'Powered by Electrogenic' division, there is a Jaguar E-Type conversion package. The company also provides well-packaged, simple to install electric powertrain solutions for historic cars like the Land Rover, Mini, Porsche 911, and Triumph Stag, making them ready for the future. Drop-in kits are meant to be readily installed by a trained professional, and this is exactly what you'll get. These can be easily removed and replaced with no alterations to the vehicle's original design.

The kits are offered alongside Electrogenic’s world-renowned bespoke conversions.

Finished in a gorgeous shade of opalescent silver blue, the first E-Type converted using Electrogenic's kit has the E43 package, which outfits the classic with 43kW of brand-new, OEM-grade batteries for a range of 150+ miles on a single charge. The E-Type with the E43 package installed can reach 60 mph in under 6 seconds, thanks to its 160 horsepower (120 kW) of power and, most importantly, its 460 lb/ft (620Nm) of immediate torque (at the crank). Its torque reserves allow it to function well even at high speeds. The kits' transmissions are one-speed units with a set gear ratio.

In addition to the standard E30, the E-Type Kit lineup now offers the larger-capacity E48 and E63 models, which, with 48kW and 63kW of batteries, respectively, offer a range of 160 and 200+ miles. The batteries, like all of Electrogenic's conversions, are mounted in a space-saving manner. Battery boxes and cell packing allow for a remarkable amount of battery capacity to be housed within the original E-Type construction, despite the car's relatively cramped confines.

The E-motor Type's batteries are installed in the transmission tunnel, while the cast-iron engine block takes the place of the cast-iron engine block in the engine compartment and the spare tyre in the trunk. The optimal distribution of mass ensures responsive, effortless steering.

More battery packs for the E63 model may be found in the cargo area, again strategically positioned to provide optimal weight distribution. In reality, both the E43 and the E48 are lighter than the base model since they make use of cutting-edge lightweight components. An Electrogenic-electrified E-Type weighs little more than a conventionally driven vehicle, even in its largest battery E63 configuration.

Electrogenic's engineering and software development teams spent a lot of time making sure the high-end bundles included all the latest conveniences a driver could want. After a long period of testing, the E-Type packages reached their current state of perfection, which includes energy-recouping regen for the brakes and throttle. The settings may be modified to suit the needs of the owner in an unlimited number of ways.

The fuel gauge now displays charge status, the oil temperature gauge now displays charger temperature, the engine temperature gauge now displays motor temperature, and the RPM gauge now displays RPM of the motor at a scale factor of half. The E-Type kit offered by Electrogenic may be installed in both coupe and roadster models from Series 1 to 3. For your ultimate convenience, every set comes with a quick CCS charger. It takes around 50 minutes to fully charge a device using CCS.

Drummond: “Having seen extraordinary international demand since we launched our drop-in kit range at the end of last year, it’s immensely satisfying to now be delivering kit converted classics—like this stunning E-Type—to new owners all over the world, ready to be enjoyed for decades to come.

“We can’t wait to continue delivering clean, reliable classic motoring to enthusiasts around the globe at scale, working in close partnership with our ever-growing network of installer partners.

“These kit deliveries truly mark the dawn of a new chapter for the company, taking the business to a whole new level. It’s certainly an exciting time to be at Electrogenic, and this is just the start. Watch this space for more announcements in the coming weeks and months.”
