DESIGN PREVIEW : THE OTHER HOUSE COVENT GARDEN
The Covent Garden landmark Wellington Block is being transformed by contemporary lifestyle brand The Other House, which has broken ground on the project. The original Residents’ Club opened in July 2022 in South Kensington, and now there is a second location on the major island site.
The Other House Covent Garden, just steps from the world-famous plaza, will feature apartment-style living with the brand’s iconic ‘Club Flats’, as well as a bar and rooftop terrace, the Owl & Monkey, an all-day bistro, The Other Kitchen, and intriguing event spaces. Members and residents will have access to a private club with a subterranean pool, treatment facilities (including the club’s distinctive OM sound baths), and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.
An impressive four-story interior glass atrium and an additional three-floor expansion are planned for the site, which now comprises seven individual historic buildings, including a former rectory, and will provide its guests with exceptional views across downtown London.
The Other House Covent Garden, which claims to provide stunning interiors, state-of-the-art amenities, and sustainable architecture from the ground up, welcomes guests for stays of any length, from one night to a whole year. Their initial round of photos is a stunning representation of their trademark style: vibrant colours, layered textures, wild floral prints, and dramatic art deco-inspired wallcoverings. All in all, it may serve as your temporary home while you’re in town.
Naomi Heaton, CEO and Founder, The Other House said: “We are delighted to finally be underway working on our location for The Other House’s second Residents Club. Our Covent Garden site embodies everything we want to achieve – sensitively restoring a historic space in prime central London and transforming it into something that truly caters for the modern, global traveller and the local community. It’s thrilling to share a first glimpse of what’s to come”.
