AWARE: The Essence of Luxury at MYS.

Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design will be presenting their latest project, AWARE, at this year's Monaco Yacht Show. This yacht concept places space optimisation at the forefront and has an open eye for what matters most: an abundance of space, an exceptional inside-outside connection to the sea, spacious and comfortable lounges, and vast exterior decks.

With AWARE, the Essence of Luxury, every available area on a yacht is utilised to provide owners and guests with the ultimate experience. This is a logical step in yacht design. At the Monaco Yacht Show in 2023, Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design will be showcasing the fully functional and ready-to-build concept AWARE, complete with a magnificent 1600 mm scale model (Stand: Parvis Piscine PP67).

The maximisation of luxury, the limited time owners spend on board with their loved ones, seclusion, and all the pleasures life at sea has to offer are the driving forces behind the superyacht industry. The core of the AWARE design concept is space optimisation. As designer Sander Sinot explains, “For the design of AWARE, the focus is on maximising the space on board within the yacht’s limited structure. We designed open-plan layouts for the beach club, lounges, and exterior decks that offer inherent flexibility and ample space while reducing the number of decks.”

In addition, by reducing GTs, AWARE provides unprecedented amounts of outdoor space on the living areas that are most often used, the beach deck and upper deck, adding the most value for users. “The principle of maximising space and reducing GT yields with a distinct, sleek, minimalist, and super-spacious design that focuses on optimising a number of much-used, larger spaces aboard is often requested by experienced owners,” Sinot points out. “Other exceptional features are the Beach Club with a 3-metre-high ceiling and fold-down hatches and the sliding parts of the glass façade that seamlessly blend AWARE's interior and exterior.”

A pure space experience is achieved by carefully balancing the proportions of AWARE's outside and interior to optimise tranquillity in both areas. With the use of shutters, movable blinds, and grids in hidden skylights that let in precisely the right amount of daylight, light is employed as a tool to create moods inside spaces. Sinot: “For our design team, this is one of the most challenging concepts we have ever launched because this is a next step in a yacht’s overall efficiency, and we believe a next step in yacht design.” This efficiency, Sinot stresses, results in the Essence of Luxury: “AWARE combines a superior quality of build with a sophisticated use of natural materials and a seamless integration of technology, resulting in a minimalistic, essential design atmosphere that creates a holistic awareness of the yacht for a true connoisseur owner.”

Every couch, indoor area, and outdoor deck has the right amount of room for maximum inside-out living and maximum usefulness. The low profile of AWARE is graceful and extended, with a length of 79.9 metres and a height of only 8 metres above the waterline. The bridge deck of AWARE's triple-decker boat features an open-plan pavilion with unhindered views of the ocean in all directions.

The beam-wide owner's stateroom, which is located forward on AWARE's main deck, provides 80 m2 of space for living, sleeping, bathroom, and dressing. It's the best utilisation of available space that yields unparalleled spaciousness. The layout is open-concept, combining a bedroom, lounge, and private jacuzzi on the balcony. The transition from inside to outdoors is smooth thanks to glass bulwark and siding doors. The owner's state room maximises space use with a combined bathroom and dressing area. The owner's state room is entirely composed of handcrafted, bespoke furniture made of natural, long-lasting materials.

AWARE's central staircase foyer is home to four exquisitely furnished guest state rooms. The bedrooms' full-length windows and the ensuite baths' full-length windows provide an unending view of the surrounding coastline. The purpose of the guest state rooms' design is to evoke a feeling of thoughtful welcome and pleasant closeness.

A spacious 460 m2 external deck area encircles the pavilion on the bridge deck, allowing visitors to take in the breathtaking views of the ocean. Inside, a semi-open wheelhouse, dining room, lounge, and library are all combined into a single, nearly 200 m³ open space, protected by floor-to-ceiling glass facades with movable horizontal louvres at the structural mullions. To connect the dining room and the outdoor lounge seating located at the rear of the external deck, these facades glide gently away. Light streams into the inside of the pavilion through skylights with built-in shadow grids along the ceiling, reinforcing the inside-outside link.

The main deck, bridge deck, and lower deck are all connected by the graceful circular staircase in the centre of the ship. The steps' sculptural form and placement in a glass-covered void provide the sensation that they are weightless and float freely through space, highlighting the staircase's statement of the AWARE's clear design language.

As you mount this magnificent circular staircase, the oculus in the centre lobby lights the way to the aft salon, which has a seating arrangement of cosy sofas; dining and relaxing here is really al fresco thanks to the open connection to the aft and side deck exteriors.

At a wide, specially-built round table, the captain, owner, and travelling companions may plan journeys in this beautiful semi-open wheelhouse. By shutting the sliding doors, the wheelhouse—which is equipped with all the newest technology for the wheelhouse of the future—can be isolated from the lounge. This room has been planned for optimal operation and effective space distribution, making it essential for the crew and captain to deliver an unforgettable journey.

Over the past ten years, Sinot has amazed, stimulated, and enthused its consumers and the industry by introducing a number of high-profile initiatives. Not unexpectedly, Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design has proposed multiple designs throughout the years, all of which are now varying degrees of reality. AWARE is ready to be created, much like the designs that were previously shown. The most priceless and resilient materials are combined with outstanding and inventive design features, as well as tried-and-true technology.

As the epitome of luxury, AWARE utilises every square inch of space on a boat to provide the owner and guests with the ultimate experience. Furthermore, the design allows for total customization to the specifications of the future owner without compromising the distinctiveness of this exceptional concept.
