Aston Martin and J. Laverack Unite to Create an Innovative Road Bicycle.

Together, Aston Martin and British titanium bicycle industry pioneer J. Laverack have developed the J. Laverack Aston Martin, an unrivalled road bicycle, 1R.

Engineers from high-performance car companies collaborated in its development. The 1R is a one-of-a-kind bicycle that is also the most technologically sophisticated and meticulously constructed bicycle ever made. Thanks to the collaboration between the two British high-performance companies, Aston Martin and J. Laverack, we were able to apply really revolutionary design and engineering procedures to create a completely integrated, 'visually boltless' design that is unparalleled in its pristine beauty and meticulous attention to detail.

The Aston Martin.1R by J. Laverack is constructed with a seamless integration of parametrically designed, 3D-printed titanium lugs and sculpted carbon fibre tubing. Because of this, you can be assured that your frame will not only provide an unparalleled level of reaction and comfort but will also raise the bar for style and beauty on two wheels. Despite the difficulty of production, the herringboned weave of the carbon fibre on exhibit is flawless, and the smooth unions of the lugs and tubes are absolutely novel.

Oliver Laverack, Co-founder of J.Laverack Bicycles, said: “Working with the team at Aston Martin has unlocked new ideas and innovations, the application of which has created a bicycle more advanced than anything currently available on the market. Working in collaboration with Aston Martin we have not only taken our titanium bicycles to new heights but have also unlocked true innovation within the cycling industry, creating a bicycle with unparalleled levels of craftsmanship and performance engineering.

“Every component is designed to be part of the whole and to marry perfectly with the adjoining elements, achieving an unsurpassed degree of integration, which lays the foundation for the J.Laverack Aston Martin .1R’s boltless design.”

Where bike owners would generally expect to see fasteners at the stem or seat post, the J. Laverack Aston Martin.1R displays perfect, clean lines. The four-piston brake callipers that are built in required the creation of custom testing equipment because they are a completely new design. Therefore, the entire bicycle is completely hidden from view, with not even a single exposed cable or hose.

All across the.1R, you'll find novel approaches to old problems that draw on developments outside the traditional realm of bicycles. The.1R is the result of a collaborative design effort between Aston Martin's supercar and hypercar projects and the most imaginative designers in the world of high-performance bicycles.

Marek Reichman, Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer at Aston Martin, said: “The J.Laverack Aston Martin .1R is essentially a titanium hypercar on two wheels. The simple, clever genius is how we’ve fused the engineering advancements throughout the bike with a purity of performance design to deliver a viscerally exhilarating riding experience. The result is a distinctive form, born through tradition and technology and handcrafted using only the most advanced materials, befitting the pedigrees and forward-thinking natures of our two iconic British companies.”

Owners will be welcomed to Aston Martin's Gaydon offices for a one-on-one consultation with the creators of J. Laverack, expanding the scope of possible customizations. 1R. If a customer wants to match their new bike with their new Aston Martin, they may choose from the same colour and trim options.

Meanwhile, the road bike has been added to Aston Martin's award-winning online configurator so that everyone may design their ideal.1R. Users may choose the colour of the saddle, handlebar tape, tubes, lugs, forks, stem, seat post, and handlebar drops using this online tool.

The carbon fibre, if so desired, can be left unfinished to further display its aesthetics. Special ceramic coatings come in two distinct colours—bronze and black—and are used for accents like the bottom bracket cups, brake callipers, and brake disc centres.

When a customer receives delivery of their personalised J. Laverack Aston Martin.1R, they will discover that the hubs, cranks, and frame, among other parts, are all numbered. The aluminium or carbon case that comes with the bike serves as a transport option and a place to proudly show off the.1R when not in use. Every.1R hard case will come with a matching track pump, either in Alcantara or leather, and it will fit snugly within the case.

About the J.Laverack Aston Martin .1R

The 1R is not a bicycle to be admired only from afar; its construction prioritises functionality and comfort for the rider. The brakes, for instance, are not just aesthetically pleasing; they also offer superior progression and feel at the levers thanks to the use of four pistons rather than the standard two. Similar structure and function may be seen in the.1R's frame: The.1R's responsiveness will delight on everything from the gritty cobbles of Flanders to the soaring slopes of the Pyrenees thanks to the mix of Ti 6Al/4V titanium, recognised for its lively riding qualities, and carbon fibre, which provides the necessary rigidity.

The fact that each.1R can be customised in ways no other bike can is more proof that it was made for long, pleasurable days in the saddle. Custom-fitting bicycles are nothing new, but they typically fall under the category of built-to-measure rather than bespoke, as is the case with the Aston Martin.1R by J. Laverack. Each Sphyr stem, called after the hammerhead shark (Sphyrna), will be 3D printed in titanium to the exact specifications of its owner, exemplifying this idea. Specifying the exact length and width is possible.

While the term "badge engineering" is usually linked with group bicycle builds, the J. Laverack Aston Martin.1R gives the term a new and unexpected connotation. Beautiful craftsmanship lies behind the lacquer covering the metal insignia on this bicycle. Each one is only 40 microns thick and is made using the same technique as the lace wing logo on the Aston Martin Valkyrie.

You can see a small version of the hypercar's wheel design in the titanium piston caps of the bike's brakes, and the bottom bracket's threaded cups are wonderfully crafted. Similarities between 1R and the centre lug nuts of an Aston Martin Valkyrie may be seen.

The perforated stem, for example, cleverly mimics the Aston Martin DB12's side strake while still providing adequate space for the brake lines to be routed within. The wall thickness of the titanium thru axles is only 0.7mm in some areas; this alone makes them works of beauty. And unlike conventional bicycles, the ends of the axles are concealed on the back wheel side.

Combining cutting-edge design with time-honoured Aston Martin precision and elegance yields the J. Laverack. 1R is very remarkable. Made by hand in England, this product is the result of a unique partnership between two industry leaders. Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford, the company's namesakes, met at London's venerable Bath Road Club, where they both competed on their bicycles. They would have loved the 1R, the world's most custom, cutting-edge, and painstakingly designed motorcycle.

On November 2nd, Rouleur Live in London will play host to the world premiere of the J. Laverack Aston Martin.1R. From November 2nd to 4th, London's Truman Brewery will host Rouleur Live, a celebration of bicycle culture.
