Architect-Designer Jean-Michel Gathy Appointed by Aman.

As the first designer for its newest sibling brand, Janu, Aman has selected the multi-awarded architect and designer Jean-Michel Gathy. The first hotel, Janu Tokyo, is scheduled to debut in the fall of 2023.

Azabudai Hills, the eagerly awaited "Modern Urban Village," is an 8.1-hectare imaginative living hub surrounded by greenery with an emphasis on wellbeing, in line with the principles of the new Janu brand, which aims to foster meaningful connection and unite people. The Janu Tokyo will be a 13 storey hotel run by Jean-Michel Gathy with 122 light-filled guest rooms, the bulk of which will have individual balconies with views of the famous Tokyo Tower or the neighborhood gardens. There will be many connected rooms available, ranging in size from 55 sq m Deluxe Rooms to 284 sq m Janu Suite, to promote travel with family and friends.

Sanskrit for "soul," the new Janu brand will offer a superior guest experience comparable to Aman while offering a lively social atmosphere in contrast to Aman's hushed solitude. The rich cultural fabric of the city will be reflected and celebrated by Janu Tokyo via its enjoyment of food, art, design, and service.

With six restaurants, a bar, a lounge, and a garden terrace, Janu Tokyo will infuse the hospitality scene in Azabudai Hills with a modern and creative energy. Each will radiate the distinctive spirit of the Janu brand, which is based on connection, balance, and discovery. Examples include a bakery, a bustling Italian food market, and a grill restaurant with an open kitchen and bar. Together with a Chinese restaurant and a variety of private dining spaces, it will feature two Japanese restaurants, the first of which will provide the best and freshest sushi and the second of which will serve sumibiyaki.

One of the largest wellness centers of any opulent hotel in Tokyo will be the Janu Wellness Centre, which is over 4,000 square meters in size. The location goes above and beyond the typical conceptions of spa with a contemporary twist on conventional health beliefs. It does this by completely reinventing the idea of balance and putting a social wellbeing and goal setting concept at its center. A variety of amenities, including five movement studios that provide spinning, boxing, yoga, Pilates, and simulated golf training, seven treatment rooms, and a sizable gym with functional and circuit training equipment, will enable group lessons and shared experiences on the site. A sizable hydrotherapy and thermal area will contain two spa houses in addition to a separate Lounge Pool, which is typically a gathering spot in Japan. The area will be centered around a 25-meter heated lap pool.
