An Unforgettable Finale: A Display That Supercar Fans Won’t Want to Miss!

In less than three weeks, the Montres Breguet-sponsored London Concours will return to the heart of the city with an incredible collection of supercars. The crazy Schuppan 662 CR P1 will be among the best collections of high-performance automobile exotica ever assembled at the event, which will also showcase other examples from a variety of carefully picked classifications. On the last day of the event, Thursday, June 8th, 'Supercar Thursday,' presented in cooperation with the Drivers' Union, will bring an additional 50 machines from the world's most famous manufacturers into the cosy setting of the Honourable Artillery Company.

The ultra-rare 1991 Schuppan 962 CR P1, one of just six known examples, will be the highlight of the next June event. Australian racer Vern Schuppan, who won Le Mans in 1983 driving a Porsche 956, was the project's leader. The carbon-fibre chassis of the Porsche 962 racer served as inspiration for his design, resulting in a kerb weight of just 1,050 kilogrammes for his Schuppan 962. Performance was insane, with a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 230 mph thanks to the 3.3-litre type-935 twin-turbo flat-six that produced 600 horsepower. The Schuppan 962 is one of the most outlandish vehicles ever given licence plates, thanks to its spectacular full-width back wing, tiny cockpit, and other 962 racer-derived aero components required to keep the power under control. The spectacular Bugatti Veyron Vitesse, in the extremely rare 'WRC' (World Record Car) edition, will also be on exhibit during the event. This 2013 WRC is one of just eight made to honour the 1184 horsepower Veyron Vitesse that reached 254 mph on a test track in Germany, making it the world's fastest production car at the time. The Vitesse's aerodynamics, which included a specifically engineered roof spoiler and a carefully constructed windbreak, allowed for smooth open-top driving at speeds in excess of 250 mph, matching those of the Veyron.

The now-iconic McLaren P1, proudly flying the British flag, will also be welcomed at the HAC. The P1's 3.8-liter twin turbo V8 and powerful electric motor made it a technological breakthrough when it was introduced in 2013. The P1's ability to bunker down substantially in its most aggressive track mode contributed to its alien, high-tech allure. The P1 could create 600kg of downforce at 160 mph thanks to its dynamic rear wing and the sliced and vented bodywork, allowing it to complete a round of the Nürburgring in under 7 minutes. Like an F1 vehicle, this one's rear wing could be adjusted at the push of a button to increase or decrease drag. This 903 horsepower, 217 mph machine had already been firmly established as a hypercar classic by the time production ceased in 2015.

Bugatti Veyron

One of McLaren's other legendary automobiles, the 675LT, will be showcased during the exhibition. The LT, released in 2016, was based on the 650S and used the same 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 that produced 666 horsepower and 515 pound-feet of torque. The LT was only slightly slower than the P1 in terms of raw speed, going from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds, 124 miles per hour in just 7.0 seconds, and 205 miles per hour at its absolute top speed, all because to its lightweight design. Fearsomely speedy yet beautifully accessible, with chatty steering and superbly calibrated, playful handling, the 675LT is, in the eyes of many, the pinnacle of modern McLaren. A legendary supercar that deserves your attention.

The remarkable Porsche Carrera GTZ, a coach-built hypercar of the 21st century, will also be present at the event. The Carrera GT was manufactured from 2003 to 2007, and2013, in 2013 the famous Italian style studio Zagato was commissioned to design a sleek, all-carbon Coupé body for the car. Carbon fibre body, more aerodynamic than the original Carrera GT's, with a progressively sloped coupe roofline sporting the characteristic Zagato double-bubble design pattern; Zagato is recognised for their work with Aston Martin and Alfa Romeo. Keeping the Carrera GT's screaming, razor-sharp 5.7-liter V10, wonderful manual gear change, and carbon chassis was a no-brainer for Zagato. Around 6 of the 1,270 total Carrera GTs are thought to have been modified by Zagato.

Porsche 992 GT3 RS 2.7 RS

In addition, the most extreme 911 to date, the 992-generation GT3 RS, will be on exhibit during the event. Extreme aerodynamic features, such as active front and rear wings (with DRS function), allow it to generate 860 kg of downforce at 285 kph, which is three times as much as a regular GT3. The 518 horsepower, 4.0-litre flat-six powered monster has no trunk because it is packed to the gills with motorsport-derived cooling systems. A standard RS lapped the notoriously difficult Nürburgring in a just 6 minutes and 49 seconds.

Here is only a small sampling of the roughly 50 supercars that will be on exhibit. Classes including "Golden Age Coupes," "Made to Race for the Road," "Development of Aero," and "Grand Tourisme" are also highly anticipated at this year's Concours. In the coming weeks, we will be announcing additional classes as we get closer to the seventh installment of this unforgettable celebration.

A perfect conclusion to Supercar Thursday, the Partners Drivers' Union will hold its annual Supercar Awards event at the London Concours on Thursday, 8th June. Visitors to the Honorary Artillery Company will be able to view the finest collection of automobiles ever assembled, as well as enjoy a variety of delectable cuisine, a newly introduced Club Concours hospitality experience, thought-provoking stage discussions, and a curated selection of luxury brands and boutiques.
