An Iconic Model, Reinterpreted: DOXA SUB 200 T.GRAPH
The groundbreaking SUB idea, widely regarded as the first specifically created diver's watch meant for the general market, was introduced by DOXA at Baselworld 1967. It became rapidly regarded as a reference for experts due to the startling advances it brought. It was the first watch with a patented revolving bezel and the official no-decompression dive table, and it was water-resistant to a depth of 300 meters. Due to its orange dial—a first for a diving watch—and its stark contrast to the more conventional black or white backdrop, this watch would also go down in history as an instantly identifiable legend.
The DOXA SUB 200 T.GRAPH, which currently stands as a standard in the category of the most iconic diving watches in watchmaking history, furthers the SUB concept's refinement in 1969. And so the story goes.
Doxa offers a reimagining of their legendary model 50 years later. After a first limited edition in 18K gold, DOXA introduces the SUB 200 T.GRAPH in a new limited series made of stainless steel.
The 43 mm-diameter SUB 200 T.GRAPH is covered by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal that is scratch-resistant. The watch has the renowned patented unidirectional rotating bezel with the dual indicator of dive time in minutes and depth in meters to calculate the dive duration without decompression pauses, in addition to being water-resistant to 20 ATM, which is comparable to a depth of around 200 meters. Around 12 o'clock, a SuperLuminova® pearl serves as the final touch.
The famous face, finished in semi-matte orange, has two counters, one at 9 o'clock showing the seconds and the other at 3 o'clock showing the chronograph's 30 minutes, much like the original model. SuperLuminova® beige "Light Old Radium" is used for the chronograph's seconds hand's insert as well as the baton-style hands. The distinctive indices of the SUB 200 T.GRAPH, coated in black, are also filled with SuperLuminova® beige "Light Old Radium."
Like to the 18K gold version, this limited steel variant has vintage 7734 VALJOUX movements within. The Swiss family Jenny, who assumed control of the DOXA brand twenty years ago, has meticulously conserved these original calibers, which date back thirty years. Naturally, before fitting, every movement has been thoroughly reviewed and made entirely trustworthy.
